Where Is Linh Ung Pagoda Located?

Approximately 10 km northeast of Da Nang, Linh Ung Pagoda rests on Son Tra Peninsula, 695 meters above sea level. The location offers sweeping views of the Eastern Sea, with Cham Island visible on one side and the stunning Hai Van Mountain Range on the other. As you approach, the statue’s gentle gaze over Da Nang creates an immediate sense of calm and beauty.

The History and Legend Behind Linh Ung Pagoda

Legend has it that under the Minh Mang Emperor, local fishermen found a sacred Lady Buddha statue along the Son Tra Peninsula’s shore. They saw it as a sign of protection, believing the statue calmed the ocean waves, making fishing safer. Inspired by this belief, Linh Ung Pagoda was officially established in 2004 and completed in 2010, thanks to Buddhist and government support.

Architectural Highlights and Spiritual Attractions

The Majestic Pagoda Structure

The pagoda spans 20 hectares and combines traditional Vietnamese elements with contemporary Buddhist influences. The main shrine hall exudes reverence with its statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and Buddha Tripitaka. Around the hall stand four protective guardians and 18 Arhat statues, symbolizing emotions like joy, anger, and love, creating a serene atmosphere for worshippers and visitors alike.
