Exploring the Vibrant Cao Bang Highlands Market in Hanoi
In celebration of National Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labour Day (May 1), the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi will host a colorful festival showcasing the unique charm of Cao Bang’s highlands.
The event will feature captivating folk songs, traditional dances, and engaging games, offering visitors an authentic experience of the cultural richness of ethnic minority groups from the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang.
At the heart of the festival is a bustling market with 50 booths presenting a diverse range of Cao Bang’s signature products, alongside tourism pavilions highlighting the theme “The Beauty of Cao Bang.” Additionally, nearly 20 booths from other provinces will enrich the market with regional specialties and crafts.
Attendees can participate in hands-on cultural experiences, such as learning the techniques behind creating traditional dishes, brewing unique wines, crafting five-color sticky rice, weaving textiles, producing incense, and mastering the intricate art of beeswax printing.
Complementing these activities are mesmerizing performances of folk dances, traditional musical instruments, and demonstrations of time-honored crafts. A highlight of the event will be a re-enactment of a traditional rain-praying festival, bringing an ancient ritual vividly to life.
