Statue of a Mahayana Buddhist monk

At midday on June 11, 1963, the venerable monk Thich Quang Duc immolated himself to protest repression against Buddhism by the former Sai Gon regime. To memorize his struggle for peace, independence and reunification, his statue was built in a park on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, where the act took place.

Sugar cane juice

Sugar cane juice is made by crushing the fibrous insides of sugar cane stalks. Sugar cane juice is naturally sweet and high in calories. A glass of chilled sugarcane juice not only quenches our thirst but also invigorates us.

Biggest Wholesale Flower Market

Ho Thi Ky is one of the biggest flower markets in Saigon since 1987, which  is really famous for fresh and colorful flowers carried from different parts of Vietnam.

The lively beauty and diversity of flowers can get visitors stunning at the first time. This market opens 24/7 and is always bustling, rusty and energetic, especially in special events and holidays.

The Slum area – See another local life.

District 4 is a lively island having one of the most crowded markets of the urban area. There is a great opportunity to come here in the morning and discover how locals start their daily life in Vietnam.

Floating Market

There is a less-known market floating on Kenh Te canal in District 7. The market’s style reminds to the daily life of people living in Mekong Delta (Western Region of Vietnam). Tourists can see dozens of boats at anchor along the canal selling typical fruits of the Mekong Delta such as banana, coconut, rambutan, mango and grapefruit, etc
